bike riding

Kayl has been wanting to learn how to ride a bike for some time, but we just keep not getting around to it.  First, no bike.  Then, no place to ride (not around our neighborhood...).  No way to get to a neighborhood to ride in.  Then, we got a bike rack for the car, but the bikes were buried in that garage mess...

FINALLY, we got it all together after the yard sale and holidays, and made it to a good park with few people in the way, and a nice loop ride to practice, as well as a level grass area for starting falls.  It took Kayl about a half an hour to get the whole bike riding thing figured out, and then away she went!

She had all the skills necessary - strength, balance, coordination, etc.  It came pretty easily.

And she was really loving it!

We went around and around and around that park until we were all tired.

When mommy rode with her, it was Kayl out in the lead...

...sometimes by a lot!

Funny, but mom could always catch her.

Sean counted laps and gave commentary, but still shows little interest in riding unless he's on the 'runabout' - attached to dad's bike.

More and more laps, with each of us...

...and then she was off again!
