salmon release

The second event on our 'kickoff' of the holidays was to meet up with a couple teachers from the kids' school and release the salmon that Sean's class had been raising.  We walked down to the watershed...

The kids were surprised that first some of the stream water had to be put in the bucket to give them less of a shock.

And then away they went!

Some of the salmon immediately tried to hide in and under rocks nearby, but a few swam down the creek right towards me...

If you look close, you can see them.

"Bye, bye, little fishies - live free!"
